That “piece of junk” was a smoking deal for $20 even back then:) You have done some nice work here. Hopefully you will be able to hand this equipment down to your children. It’s worth keeping in your family. It took me 20 years to build a decent system and another 10 to find advantages in tubes. You are way ahead of me and almost everyone else in this aspect. I love what you have done. Now some nice K-horns would do this justice. Keep at it!
Thanks,I like your video, I think your very smart.. Thx.
very good vid, I have some old tube radios and one day I hope to have some vintage audio. the sound is much warmer and better defined thanks, very informative and entertaining
Nice work SNESpguy. I had 2 citation IIs from my grandfather but only 1 now with a bad power tranny. You have inspired me to restore my HKC2. It will be costly to have the pwr. tranny rewound and repotted but it is worth it to me.
@bcdhifi Hey that sounds good. What happened to your second one? This one almost ended up in the scrap pile. My dad bought it from the thrift store, who had cut the cord off and was selling it as an “as-is piece of junk”. It then sat in the backyard shed for 20ish years until I picked up interest in this sort of thing. It was my first piece of vintage audio gear. I will be uploading a new vid soon on this wierd tube amp I found called an Arkay CS-28. Ever heard of Arkay as a brand?
well I just know more than anyone about this stuff that’s why. My dad has sooooo many vintage stereo tube amps and all that shit so I know. I’ve been helping him build his speaker cabinets since I was 8….. so yea I am a leading authority – dude, my dad is effing rich. We have a 5000 sq ft basement and her has his 1959 stereo store replica down there. If you like this shit you would be in heaven down there with him. He never cared about me he just cares about his vintage stereo shit
You don’t know shit because SNESpguy is right . A flat frequency response is a desirable attribute for speakers. You are a stupid, spoiled rich ASSHOLE!
ur wrong. I know a lot about vintage audio….. not because I want to but just because my father forced me to be interested in his shit. I’m not spoiled so shut up
I am right about the frequency response as for the other two comments well you had it coming. So you are striking out at people who share the same interest as your father because he forced you to share in it? I don’t know you so I will apologize for the name calling.
yea but that’s all subjective. My dad is a member of this vintage audio club or some shit and they talk about different equipment. Some dudes like JBL some like EV some like AR some Wolverine some University some Tanoy some Lafayette etc. It depends on ur personal taste I guess. thanx dude….. its ok
