30 dollar Goodwill stereo system I bought one Sunday afternoon when I was bored. Who says 30 dollars can’t go far anymore? Sansui receiver 12 bucks, Bose speakers 8 bucks, Technics CD player 4 bucks. After tax around 30 total dollars. When I push play on the video was the first time I heard what it sounded like. Great? Well, not bad for thirty dollars!!!

This is the Superscope Marantz Stereo-Quadraphase combo audio system built in Taiwan, circa 1973. Designed by Marantz. It contains a stereo receiver and built in BSR turntable with a magnetic cartridge. I think that the pink display is very retro cool! The sound and build quality are excellent. Quadraphase may have been a quadraphonic effect created by running 4 speakers having 2 of them out of phase. That’s only a guess. There were several varieties of quad during that early 1970′s fad.
