I have the identical turntable, I just got from my grandmother, unfortunately it worked for about 20 minutes now won't spin. How can I fix it? I am not even sure how to take it apart to check the motor and belt or what kind of oil I can use to make it spin better.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I'm looking for the JVC receiver that I had as a teenager. I can't think of the model number. I do know that it's very close to the JVC R-S7, except, without the mono/stereo switch. Do you know what model that might be? Circa 1979. I thank you in advance.

I've just purchased a set of Fisher ST828 Studio speakers.

A bit on the large size for a home sterio system but I have hooked them up to my cherished Pioneer SA9800 amp and they sound GREAT. Detailed top and effortless bass through the 15" woofer. Does anyone know where I can get any info about them from?

Oh, yeah! I listened to the radio when I was in the Newark airport (on the return trip from Germany, where I guess it didn't occur to me that I needed to) and it was glorious. I still have a couple of these really cheesy world band radios that I bought for like 8 EUR in a department store there, along with a bunch of German AA Batteries. I'm taking my DX-390 next time! (And inevitably coming back with a bunch of PAL video equipment that I won't be able to fit in my room)

I live within range of NYC and Philadelphia, as well as many local NJ stations, so there is quite a lot. Due to the large population, everyone wants to get their own slice of the pie, so a lot of small low-power stations remain on the air. The Gospel music station heard at the beginning of the video (1070 WKMB) as well as the strange Indian music station (1170 WWTR) are both 250-watt daytimers!
